By downloading, installing, or using the Nylok mobile application (the "App"), bundle identifier com.nylok.project, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Nylok is a lifestyle utility for home cooks. The App helps you:
My Trail, Ask Nyl, and Kitchen Studio are pseudo-social experiences powered entirely by on-device data. They do not connect to external social networks or other users over the internet.
Disclaimer: Nylok provides personal organization and inspiration tools only. It does not provide professional dietary, nutritional, or food-safety advice. You are responsible for safe food handling and any health decisions related to your cooking.
The App uses a Quick Login system that generates or reuses credentials stored locally on your device. You are responsible for securing your device.
Logging out ends your active session. Local credentials and content remain on the device until you delete them or use Delete Account.
Using Delete Account in Profile permanently erases all App data from your device, including recipes, media, chat history, trail posts, gems balance, and credentials. This cannot be reversed through us because we do not host your data.
You retain ownership of content you create in the App (recipes, photos, audio, notes, trail posts). Because content is stored locally, you are responsible for backups. Uninstalling the App or deleting your account removes content from the device.
You agree not to use the App to store or create content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, or otherwise harmful.
Nylok offers consumable virtual currency called Pantry Gems via Apple's In-App Purchase system. Tiers are displayed in ascending price order:

The App's design, branding, offline companion scripts, and original assets are owned by Nylok or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the App or its materials.
The App uses Apple frameworks including StoreKit, AVFoundation, and UserNotifications. Your use of those services is subject to Apple's terms and policies. Legal document pages may be hosted on Vercel for public access; hosting does not change that your App data remains on-device.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NYLOK AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it or deleting your account. We may suspend or discontinue the App where permitted by law. Sections that by nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and intellectual property) will survive.
We may modify these Terms at any time. The "Last Updated" date above indicates the latest revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction of the App developer, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections apply in your country of residence.
