Nylok ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Nylok mobile application (the "App"), bundle identifier com.nylok.project. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App. Nylok is a personal kitchen journal and recipe archive designed for home cooks. All core user content is stored on your device. We do not operate a cloud account service or sell your personal data.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
When you use Nylok, the following data may be created and stored locally on your iPhone or iPad:
This data is saved using Apple UserDefaults and files in the App's sandboxed documents directory. It is not transmitted to our servers for storage.

Nylok requests the following permissions only when you use a related feature:

If you deny a permission, the related feature will not function until you enable it in iOS Settings. Nylok does not include an in-app permission management screen.
On the first open of the App after install, the App may present Apple's App Tracking Transparency dialog. Your choice is handled entirely by iOS. We do not show a custom pre-prompt. Nylok does not rely on third-party advertising networks in the current version.
Nylok may request notification authorization when you enable meal-prep reminders. The App does not register a notification delegate or process incoming push payloads beyond the system permission request. Reminder delivery behavior depends on iOS and your device settings.
Nylok offers consumable virtual currency called Pantry Gems through Apple's In-App Purchase system (StoreKit). Available tiers (sorted by price, lowest first):

After logout, a cold start returns you to the Login screen without auto-entering the home experience.
Nylok is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us and we will assist with deletion on the device.
Because data remains on your device, its security depends on your device passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and iOS protections. We recommend keeping your device updated and secured.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
